Editorial verdict
FanDuel puts a sportsbook, casino and live dealer tables in Alberta from age 18, with its own Alberta wallet and a province selector in the app. The catch: its Alberta Terms name no payment methods, and its app-store listings name only Ontario.
Is FanDuel legal in Alberta?
Yes. FanDuel is run by FanDuel Canada ULC, which holds an AGLC "iGaming - Operator" registration. FanDuel is also on AiGC's Registered iGaming Sites list. Pros
- Sportsbook, casino and live dealer games run in Alberta under an AGLC iGaming operator registration that runs to July 13, 2027.
- Open from age 18, against 19 in Ontario, with a separate Alberta wallet and an in-app province selector for withdrawing from another province.
- Deposit, wager and time limits, a Timeout and self-exclusion, plus a link to AGLC's province-wide program.
Cons
- The Alberta Terms name no payment methods or limits, and commit only to commercially reasonable efforts to process a withdrawal request within 5 working days. The method-by-method help pages are Canada-wide and never mention Alberta.
- We found no phone number: support is live chat and email, with direct messages on X and Facebook.
We haven't opened an account or moved money with FanDuel. This review is built from its Alberta Terms and Conditions, its help centre, its app-store listings and the AGLC and AiGC lists, checked 9 Oct 2026.

Casino
FanDuel Casino runs random-number games and live dealer blackjack, baccarat and roulette in Alberta.
The Alberta Terms say random number generator software decides every casino game outcome, and that each game's Help or Game Info tab carries its own rules, including bet limits, maximum payouts and, where shown, return-to-player. They name live dealer blackjack, baccarat and roulette tables.
If you're disconnected mid-round at a live dealer table, your accepted bets stay in play and the dealer carries on without waiting for you. FanDuel publishes no game count or studio list on the pages we reached. Casino games also sit inside the sportsbook apps, per the Terms.
Sportsbook
FanDuel Sportsbook has Alberta-specific house rules and covers live betting and cash out in its Terms.
FanDuel's Alberta help page links to a set of Alberta House Rules that explain how it settles bets across sports. The Terms have sections on placing bets, suspicious betting, and live betting and cash out. The pages we reached list no sports, markets or bet limits, so we don't either.
Alberta wallet and travel
FanDuel runs under separate provincial licences, so funds sit in a province-specific wallet: money deposited in Alberta stays in Alberta and can't move across provinces. A province selector at the foot of the app switches to Alberta's view so you can withdraw while you're in another legal province.
Canadian and US FanDuel accounts are separate. Your Canadian account won't work while you travel in the US, even in a state that allows online betting.
FanDuel (Casino + Sportsbook) app
FanDuel has iPhone and Android apps for Canada, but their store listings name only Ontario.
On the Canadian App Store, FanDuel Sportsbook and Casino and FanDuel Online Casino are both free, from seller FanDuel Limited, and need iOS 15.1 or later. Google Play lists FanDuel Sportsbook and Casino (4.1 stars, 19.7K reviews) and FanDuel Online Casino (4.6 stars, 10.4K reviews), both from developer FanDuel. Store scores cover every region the apps serve and say little about Alberta alone.
None of the four listings mentions Alberta. Their descriptions say 19+ and Ontario, and their responsible-gaming lines cite ConnexOntario. FanDuel's Alberta help page does describe a province selector in the app that includes Alberta, so the app has an Alberta view, but we can't tell you from the store listings which one covers Alberta players.
FanDuel Casino also runs in a desktop browser. A Canada-wide help article says it asks you to allow a location check there, and that VPN and remote-desktop software can block the check.
Customer support
FanDuel support runs through live chat and email, with direct messages on X and Facebook as backups.
FanDuel's Help Centre contact page lists chat with live agents, email, a direct message on X and a private message on Facebook. It lists no phone number and no hours. The Alberta Terms add Canada@fanduel.com for written disputes, with a reply promised within five calendar days.
If a dispute is still unresolved, the Terms point to AGLC's number for gaming irregularities, 1-800-742-7818, or an inquiry through the AiGC website at abigaming.ca.
- Live chat: Chat with live agents from the FanDuel Help Centre
- Email: Canada@fanduel.com (written disputes; reply promised within five calendar days)
Account and verification
FanDuel checks your age and identity when you open an account, and you must be physically in Alberta to play.
FanDuel carries out age checks on every customer when the account is opened and can restrict or suspend an account until your age is confirmed. You can place a bet only after your identity is verified and you've deposited, and before playing games you must affirm that you're fit to play.
Location checks
The Terms ask you to use FanDuel only from Alberta, and say FanDuel can detect and monitor your location when you place bets and at other intervals, using your phone's location through your cellular provider. FanDuel keeps location data for ten years.
Deposits and fees
Money you deposit must come from a payment source you legally own that matches the name on your account. FanDuel holds the funds in a separate account as agent for AiGC, and they earn no interest. Deposits made through a payment provider can take a few days to clear, and some banks charge advance fees on card transactions.
FanDuel says it doesn't charge for deposits and withdrawals in the normal course. Charges may apply for excessive transactions, and FanDuel says it will contact you before charging.
Payment methods
The Alberta Terms name no payment methods. FanDuel's Canada-wide deposit article lists online banking through Trustly, Interac e-Transfer or Request Money, credit or debit cards and PayPal, and caps prepaid cards at $250 and five cards over a rolling seven days. It never mentions Alberta, and its search listing shows it was last modified in September 2025. Check the cashier for what's live.
Prepaid cards can't be used for withdrawals in Canada. The deposit article says you can't withdraw to a credit card, while two withdrawals pages list a credit card option for Canada, so confirm before you rely on one.
Withdrawals
The Terms say FanDuel will use commercially reasonable efforts to process a request within 5 working days after its checks, and pay back by the deposit method where it can. A Canada-wide help page says most withdrawals are reviewed within 24 hours and first withdrawals can take up to 48 hours.
Canada-wide pages give timeframes by method once approved: PayPal within 48 hours, online banking and card payouts up to 5 business days, and Interac up to 5 business days, or 2 to 3 with Autodeposit on. They never mention Alberta and word some ranges differently, so treat them as a guide.

Responsible-gambling tools
FanDuel's Alberta Terms name deposit, wager and time limits and self-exclusion, and point to AGLC's province-wide program; its help centre adds a Timeout.
Limits and breaks
The Alberta Terms say you can limit the amount you deposit or wager, set time limits and exclude yourself for a period, all from your account. They give no periods or amounts.
FanDuel's Timeout page describes a short break that covers all your eligible FanDuel products. You can't log in, active wagers stay live and withdrawals go through support. It says different Timeout periods apply in Alberta but doesn't state them.
Self-exclusion
FanDuel runs its own self-exclusion, and AGLC runs a separate centralized program for casinos, racing entertainment centres and regulated iGaming platforms, joined at selfexclusion.ca. The Terms say joining one doesn't enrol you in the other and the periods may differ. FanDuel states no Alberta durations.
What we don't count
FanDuel's general responsible-gaming article describes loss limits, a maximum wager per slip and 15 or 30 minute reality checks. It isn't Alberta-specific and says limits vary by location, so we don't count those tools. For help, call GameSense Alberta at 1-833-447-7523 or visit gamesenseab.ca.
